E2R’s New Scripture Index

Here’s a Christmas riddle for you: What question have I been asked more than any other in 2014? It is this one:

“Paul, have you written anything on (insert scripture reference)?” A close second is, “How do I read (insert troubling scripture) through the lens of grace?”

In response to questions like these I have written hundreds of posts on hundreds of scriptures. Problem is they’re hard to find. E2R has grown so big that finding past posts has become a chore. Have you noticed?

After five years and half a million words, the archives are stuffed to bursting, and many of you can’t figure out how to make the Subject Index work. There’s a lot of good stuff here but finding it is a headache.

Not anymore!

Over the past few weeks I have indexed every post in a brand new, easy-to-use Scripture Index. Now if you want to find out what I have said about a certain scripture or if you want to know how to read a “tough” verse through the lens of grace, it’s easy. Just use the index. Here’s a screenshot:

It’s not pretty, but it works. The image above is a partial list for Hebrews. Entries are listed by chapter and verse and those in blue are linked to relevant posts here on E2R. The index also shows you where I have written about scriptures in my various gospel books. For example, look at the entry for Hebrews 10:17 above and you will see there are links to two separate posts as well as a reference to chapter 11 of The Gospel in Twenty Questions (or TQ for short).

I recommend you bookmark the Scripture Index. It’s not a commentary but it is a resource that you’ll want to come back to again and again.

I expect the Scripture Index will grow substantially over the coming months. I have many posts in the pipeline on verses that readers have sent me and I will add these to the index as they get published.

In the meantime, why not check out the new Scripture Index? It’ll lead you to treasures galore!
